Club Chairman - Nigel Banham

Having done a bit of control line and free flight when I was a kid, I built my first RC model in 1969 – an Aeronca Sedan with galloping ghost single channel and an AM diesel.  I belonged first to Colchester Club, then to Ipswich and my first passion was for stunt models – Keil Krafts Intruder, designed by Cliff Goater was first and Wolfgang Matts Super Star with an OS 60 Gold Head being as good as it got.  Autogyros have lately taken my fancy and I have just built two for the coming season…..well….they keep people entertained!!

chris-bush

Club Secretary - Chris Bush

“Chris started flying models in 1995, initially as a member of the Ipswich Radio Control Model club, but was invited to join RADMAC shortly thereafter and has remained a keen member ever since. During his flying career he has risen to the level of Fixed Wing Examiner and has therefore trained many others in the art of flying model aircraft. He has served on the Committee of RADMAC various times over the years and is currently covering the dual role of Welfare Officer and Honourable Secretary”.

I have been modelling for most of my life,  in the 70s I was heavily into slope soaring and in the 80s I got into Aerobatics, eventually achieving “Masters” class before putting my models on the back burner for a few years while I concentrated on fullsize boats.  I am still a keen sailor but am also back into models though of a more sedate nature these days, revisiting some of the models, radios and engines I either had or would have liked to have back in the good old days.

Members Rep - Dave Brain

Started flying about six years ago and got my “A” just before I joined RADMAC three years ago.  I have been cutting the grass along with Rob for the last two years or more and fly at the site once or twice a week throughout the year, rain and hurricane excepted.   I enjoy all sorts of flying from ducted fan through warbirds to 2.5 D ( not good enough for 3D) and hope as members rep to help with the good running of the club.
